About the project
E-brain is a Korea Telecom’s (KT) artificial intelligence-powered energy analytics platform. Capable of machine learning, KT’s e-Brain is able to factor weather, usage patterns and profitability to generate its own prediction models that enable efficient management of energy generation, energy consumption, energy trading and vehicle charging.
More project information
In 2015, Korea Telecom in collaboration with the Government of South Korea, made the decision to fundamentally transform the country’s energy system. KT-MEG, the Internet of Things (IoT) demand response platforms that uses micro grids, artificial intelligence-powered e-Brain and a variety of mobile networks and communication mediums to manage the supply and consumption of energy throughout Korea.
The KT E-Brain is an artificial intelligence-powered energy analytics platform that is capable of learning. KT’s e-Brain is able to factor in the weather, usage patterns and profitability to generate its own prediction models that enable efficient management of energy generation, energy consumption, energy trading and vehicle charging. Powering more than 18,000 sites, each with disparate energy requirements, the Korean mobile network operator has enabled more efficient energy use for power plants, vehicle charging points and a variety of other businesses.
KT E-brain will be helpful in meeting several of the SDGs. By providing efficient energy management platform, the project can promote the Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure goal and help move towards the Affordable and Clean Energy goal and create more Sustainable Cities and Communities goal. The E-brain will also help promote the Decent Work and Economic Growth goal by providing the most efficient platform for energy generation, consumption and trading.
