More project information
The Smart Home Dream House project led by SK Telecomm together with Walk Together. It is a controlled home-service via AI and IoT technology for the disabled. Since 2015, SK Telecomm (SKT) has been working with venture companies and start-ups to develop and commercialize IoT products in order to create a more vibrant smart home ecosystem.
SK Telecom is working with social welfare group Walk Together to create 10 Smart Home Dream Houses this year equipped with light switches, gas valves, and speakers outfitted with SKT’s Smart Home service. The homes will help those with physical disabilities easily operate lights and other utilities in their homes simply by using the connected smartphone app. The project will help meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of creating Sustainable Cities and Communities and Life on Land by allowing people living in communities to better plan for wildfire events, help prevent the loss of swathes of forest/grassland and the biodiversity living there. It will also help meet the Climate Action goal by helping counteract wildfires, which are increasingly prevalent due to climate change.
The project contributes to Sustainable Cities and Communities goal by providing insights on how to make smart home more convenient for the disabled.
