More project information

Co-founded in 2013 by French researchers Olivier Clatz and Pierre Fillard, Therapixel is a French start-up (private company) that produces software dedicated to medical imaging. Since 2016, Therapixel has been developing a new activity to help interpret medical images based on artificial intelligence to improve radiology diagnostic.

In France, it is common that two doctors analyze a mammogram. The first doctor detects and characterizes the possible anomalies in about five minutes. The second doctor can confirm or invalidate the previous doctor’s opinion. Therapixel enables to automate the first level of analysis. This aims to fasten the diagnosis process, to reduce the number of times false negative outcomes of cancer analysis (about 10% at the end of the first level of analysis), as well as to avoid worrying the patients with alarming results which will prove erroneous.

Therapixel’s artificial intelligence algorithm is based on the comparison between hundreds of thousands of radiology images with established diagnosis. Therapixel uses this database to give a precise diagnosis on any new image that is submitted to the system. In the first phase of the tool's development, Therapixel's algorithm decreased the rate of false news from 25% to 4% as claimed by the company.

Therapixel’s technology accelerates the medical diagnosis process and therefore can contribute to better health and well-being.
